It is wonderful to get up early and search for nuggets that can be found in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Today, I read a verse in the book of Genesis, where God has completed the sixth day of Creation. This comes after God has created mankind in His image. “God saw all He had made and God saw it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning – the sixth day.” Genesis 1:31 When I saw it, it made me say, goodness! Okay, no big deal, until you realize that God on the previous five days of Creation at the end of each day, God saw that it was good.
It made me contemplate the word good. The dictionary defines good (when used as a noun): that which is morally right; “a mysterious balance of good and evil.” So why good for five days and very good after the sixth day? Maybe because God now had infused His Breath of Life into every living creature that moves along the ground. Can you think of a single word that is better than good? God in His goodness gave us the simple answer: very good. Check it out for yourself in the Creation story.
The continuation of the story in Genesis features Adam and Eve and their disobedience. They made a bad choice that separated them and mankind from God. Thousands of years later God sends His only begotten Son to reconcile us to Him. Whosoever believes in His Son will not perish but have eternal life. When I chose to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I used to worry that I would not be able to stop drinking alcohol. I had been drinking for thirty years. It was only through the grace of God; this addiction was taken from me. Goodness Gracious! It has been over 21 years now.
Over the years, I have contemplated the verse in Ecclesiastes 2:14 “The wise have eyes in their heads, while the fool walks in darkness.” I could not make sense of this until recently. The answer came to me by examining this in the spiritual sense. The wise have eyes in their head as they know Jesus and have the Blessed Assurance of where they will spend eternity. The light in their heads is the Truth in their brain. Nothing else Matters! The fool walks in darkness in a continuous search for the Truth and the Light of the World. It is such a blessing to know I am Good 2 Go at the end of this earthly life.
Becoming Christian is as easy as ABC as outlined in these Bible verses:
A. All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23; 6:23; 1 John 1:10)
B. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31; John 1:12)
C. If you Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9; Ephesians 2:8-9)
You can choose where you will live for eternity right now. The choice is yours, TODAY, to have your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. 2021 has been full of surprises and this could be the year Jesus comes back for us. Goodness! Gracious! Make sure you are Good 2 Go! God bless you!
