JUST CALL ME COZY

December 5, 2020

We go through the same thing every year at the beginning of Winter. How long can we hack it

before we must turn on the furnace? The house has been nippy during the past week as the

outside temperature drops to near freezing. First come my long johns that keep these old

bones from shaking and clattering. Last night I pulled out my last line of defense against the cold, my big cozy, fuzzy, red blanket. I call it my BSR (bear skin rug). It felt so good to finally seal all the crevices that let cold air penetrate and disrupt my sleep. It makes a good hiding place from old jack frost nipping at my toes.

This morning, the thermostat on the wall was shivering as it displayed a cool 64 degrees. As I

drank a cup of coffee, I began this new day by giving thanks for my BSR. My gratitude quickly

changed as I read Psalm 32:1, “Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose

sins are covered.” Thank you, Jesus, for covering my sins with your blood. You gave Your life

for me as you bore my sins in Your body on the cross. What a blessing to understand and

receive Your sacrifice. Only because of You, I am covered and reassured of Eternal Life. My new self-proclaimed nickname is Cozy as I am feeling extra secure in Jesus this morning. How about you?

Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year by accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior. Become part of the chosen people, God’s special possession, so we can praise Him because He has taken us out of the darkness and into His wonderful light. Get cozy and wrap yourself in the garment of His Word. “The Word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:8-10. Get covered and stay cozy with your spiritual BSR (Blood, Savior, Redeemer).

The Kingdom of God is near! Make it a Merry Christmas!
