Easter Sunday has been one of my favorite days for as long as I can remember. As a child, it was all about the Easter bunny, hiding Easter eggs and having a great time with the family all day. All the attention was on the bunny bringing us a basket to use during the Easter egg hunt with our cousins. We dressed in our best clothes and had pictures taken of us with squinting eyes as the Arizona sun was so bright. One of the things about going to a restaurant after church service on Easter is you will have to wait . . . even when you have a reservation.
As a Child of God my focus has changed and now, I celebrate the Lamb of God rather than a bunny. The Good News about Easter is Jesus has resurrected and has cleansed us of our sins so we can get to Heaven. The Better News is He is coming back for us; He is praying for us in Heaven, and He is preparing a place for us without having to make a reservation. There will be no waiting or squinting eyes.
All we have to do is believe. He said it, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6. In Romans 10: 9 it says: “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” It’s that simple; the free gift to get into Heaven without a reservation.
Make sure your name is on the list to get into Heaven. It must be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. There will be no waiting because the Lamb made the reservation, not the bunny.
